The resort offers 67 guestrooms and suites in four white, Mediterranean-style buildings with red-tile roofs of four stories each (elevators included). What to expect: The resort features the cool style and relaxed ambience established by the main building, which was built in the 1930s as the summer residence of British shipping magnate Sir Edward Cunard and now contains a marble-floor, white-wood-ceiling lobby. The spacious grounds offer tranquility for adult couples and room to play for families. Amenity highlights: A 150-yard-long, 30-yard-deep stretch of light-colored sand is furnished with umbrellas and padded lounge chairs in front of the resort along the Caribbean Sea. Chilled towels are handed out in the afternoons. A two-level pool complex divided by a garden and low waterfall comprises a shallow, 35-foot-diameter family pool and a large free-form adult pool with surrounding sundeck featuring umbrellas and padded lounge chairs. Insider tip: The resort's extensive grounds of lawns, gardens, and tall, mature trees include numerous tropical plantings identified by botanical signs. The front desk provides a map for self-guided tours.
